Marian Pilgrimage is Oct. 10

The Diocese of Wilmington will hold its annual Marian Pilgrimage on Oct. 10 at Holy Spirit Church in New Castle, home of the Shrine of Our Lady Queen of Peace.

The pilgrimage begins at 1 p.m. with exposition of the Blessed Sacrament and Benediction with Father Michael Shea, a Vincentian priest who is the associate director of the Central Association of the Miraculous Medal in Philadelphia.

Confession and visits to the shrine will be held from 2-3 p.m. Bishop Malooly will celebrate Mass at 4 p.m. The day concludes with the recitation of the rosary at 5.

Father Shea is also the guest speaker. Before his ministry promoting devotion to Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal, he worked in education. He also has written for The Catholic Standard and Times, the former newspaper of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, and has appeared on radio and television.
