Unbeatens meet in field hockey, while top-5 volleyball battles loom

The fall season is in full swing as the calendar turns to October, and we have a few top-five volleyball matches and some key field hockey showdowns.

Field hockey

Tuesday

Friends (5-0) at Ursuline (3-2-1), 3:30 p.m. The Quakers haven’t given up a goal all season. field hockeyThe Raiders look to end that streak and get back in the win column.

Archmere (3-2) at Red Lion (4-1), 3:45 p.m. The Auks’ tough early season schedule continues as they face a red-hot Red Lion team.

William Penn (5-2) at St. Elizabeth (1-5), 3:45 p.m. The Vikings look for the home upset over the Flight A Conference leaders.

Wednesday

St. Thomas More (1-4) at Delaware Military Academy (4-3), 4:15 p.m. The Ravens look for the road win against the Seahawks.

Thursday

Tatnall (0-6) at Ursuline, 3:45 p.m.

Friday

St. Elizabeth at Archmere, 3:45 p.m. (homecoming)

Padua (6-0) at Caravel (6-0), 7:15 p.m. The fifth-ranked Pandas travel to No. 6 Caravel in a battle of unbeaten teams. The Pandas have given up just one goal, while the Buccaneers score a lot. Friday night under the lights says all you need to know about how good this matchup is.

Saturday

Padua at St. Mark’s (2-4), 3:45 p.m. The Spartans look for the home upset of the Pandas, playing for the second time in less than 24 hours.

 

Volleyball

Monday

St. Elizabeth (0-6) at Ursuline (5-1), 7:15 p.m. The Raiders start a three-match in five-day volleyballstretch coming off two five-set wins last week.

Tuesday

Caesar Rodney (3-2) at St. Thomas More (7-0), 5:30 p.m. The ninth-ranked Ravens haven’t lost a set this year and look to keep that streak against their rival at home.

Delaware Military Academy (3-2) at Archmere (7-0), 6:15 p.m. Last year’s state finalists meet again as the No. 3 Auks look for payback against the reigning champs.and second-ranked Seahawks

Strath Haven (Pa.) (5-1) at Ursuline 7:15 p.m.

Wilmington Christian (3-5) at St. Mark’s (3-3), 7:15 p.m. The fifth-ranked Spartans lost a pair of five-set matches to the third- and fourth-ranked teams last week. They will look to rebound with a couple of home wins this week.

Wednesday

Tower Hill (5-1) at Padua (7-0), 5:15 p.m. The top-ranked Pandas have been dominant this year and look to stay unbeaten at home against the No. 10 Hilliers.

Thursday

Woodbridge (2-3) at St. Thomas More, 5:30 p.m.

St. Elizabeth at St. Mark’s, 7:15 p.m.

Friday

Ursuline at Archmere, 6:15 p.m. (homecoming). The Raiders look to spoil the Auks’ homecoming.

Saturday

St. Elizabeth at Padua, 7:15 p.m.
