Bishop Malooly offers a helping hand, as well as a gift, to Kala Sutton as she feeds her one-week old son Alijah during the annual Advent dinner at Bayard House on Dec. 14.

The evening started with a prayer service at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, followed by dinner at Bayard House with residents, their children, and Catholic Charities and Bayard House staff.

The women presented Bishop Malooly with a photo album containing pictures of Bayard House activites throughout the year, and he gave each one of them a cross pendant on a silver chain.

Bayard House is a residential maternity home for at-risk pregnant women and their children facilitated by Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Wilmington.
