WILMINGTON – Archmere and Ursuline staged a five-set marathon in their volleyball match Oct. 24, and the host Raiders were able to hold on for a 3-2 win. Set scores were 26-24, 24-26, 25-19, 22-25, and 15-12.
It was similar to the last time the Auks and Raiders met, which was last November in a state tournament semifinal. Ursuline needed five sets to win that one as well.

The road for Ursuline, which improved to 12-1, gets no easier as the regular season nears its conclusion. Padua visits for Senior Night on Thursday at 7:!5 p.m., then the Raiders wrap up the campaign Saturday at St. Mark’s at 1:45 p.m. Archmere (9-5) ends the season Friday at Newark Charter at 5:30 p.m. Both the Auks and Raiders will be competing in the state tournament, which begins next Thursday.
