The Sals controlled the action in the first half, outshooting the Auks, 10-2. Jason Blackwell had a nice opportunity early, but Archmere keeper Blake Parker mad the save to keep it scoreless. The best chance for the Auks, ranked fifth in Division II, came on a free kick from about 40 yards out in the 25th minute, but Sean Murray’s bending shot was just wide of the far post.

The Sals struck in the 32nd minute as Casey Kurlej took a nice back tap pass from Jack Leonard and buried the ball into the net for the 1-0 lead. Leonard scored one of his own in the 39th, taking the feed from Bryce Wallace and sending the ball just inside the far post.

It was a defensive battle in the second half. Archmere’s best chance came off a corner kick in the 64th minute, but Salesianum keeper Gavin Campbell made the save. Parker stopped Blackwell in the 72nd to deny the Sals.
