St. Elizabeth closed out its boys home basketball schedule Friday night with a 59-48 win over Caravel, but it was more than just the Vikings’ 12th win (against five losses) on the season.
Three Vikings reached milestones Friday. Senior Tim Massado and junior Andre Patton each scored their 1,000th point, and coach Dick Rago earned his 300th win at St. Elizabeth.
Massado needed three points entering the game to reach 1,000. He scored his first point on a free throw, and a few minutes later dropped in a layup to hit the magic number. He ended up with 23 for the game. Patton was 19 short when the game started, and during the fourth quarter he got there on his way to a game-high 25.
The Vikings, who entered last week ranked 10th in the state, play their last three games on the road, starting Tuesday night at St. Mark’s at 7:15 p.m.
