Subaru ‘shares’ donation with Ministry of Caring

WILMINGTON – The Ministry of Caring recently received a donation of $5,856 from Delaware Subaru, money that was raised through Subaru’s “Share the Love” campaign, a national program through which the automaker gives to nonprofits selected by new car buyers.

Michael Uffner, president of AutoTeam Delaware, which operates Delaware Subaru, praised the work the Ministry does for the poor and homeless. He has known Brother Ronald Giannone, the founder and director of the Ministry of Caring, since the Capuchin arrived in Wilmington in the 1970s.

“The city and the state, without you and the Ministry of Caring, we’d be in a big world of hurt,” Uffner told Brother Ronald.

During the “Share the Love” campaign, Subaru donated $250 for every new vehicle sold or leased to one of five charities – four national nonprofits and one local.
