Three years in prison for theft from parishes

On Nov. 4, Father Cornelius J. Breslin, a priest of the Diocese of Wilmington, was sentenced to 10 years with seven years suspended  for theft from his former parish communities of St. Patrick and St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception in Wilmington.

Bishop Malooly issued the following statement:

 “As another chapter in this saga unfolds today; I continue to be saddened by the situation, yet at the same time, I am grateful to the people of St. Patrick and St. Mary’s parishes for their faithfulness. ”
