From the Bishop: Annual Catholic Appeal allows our diocese to advance the mission of Christ

Dear Friends in Christ,

He Reveals Himself in the Breaking of the Bread (St. Luke 24: 35-48).

The act of breaking bread or sharing a meal is a simple daily routine which brings a sense of togetherness to a family and to a community. As Catholics we are called to bear witness to our faith and open our minds and hearts to bring those less fortunate closer to God’s table.

Each year at this time I ask your support of the many ministries that we, as a caring family of Christians, provide for people throughout our diocese. By contributing to the Annual Catholic Appeal we share a sense of community that allows our diocese to advance the mission of Christ which is to feed and house the poor, minister to the sick and discouraged, educate our young, and encourage strong, healthy, loving families.

The charitable, pastoral and educational ministries that the Appeal funds touch thousands of lives throughout Delaware and the Eastern Shore of Maryland providing service that knows no race, no age, no social class but rather knows only that those who come to us are special to Our Lord.

Please accept my gratitude for your continued support of the Annual Catholic Appeal. May God reward you abundantly for your goodness to all who ask for help in His name. May those whom you assist recognize Him through all you provide.

Sincerely yours in Our Lord,

Most Reverend W. Francis Malooly

Bishop of Wilmington
