Boys teams hope to make statement as attention turns toward postseason

The spring season is entering the final week of April, which means the playoffs are looming and teams want to make a statement.

Baseball

Monday

baseballSt. Elizabeth (4-5) at St. Andrews (3-5), 4 p.m. The Vikings look to get back in the win column against s team that has lost five straight.

Mount Pleasant (4-4) at Sallies (6-2), 4 p.m. The Sals played a doubleheader on Saturday so they may need to find a few eligible pitchers for a good-hitting Green Knights team.

Tuesday

Tatnall (6-3) at St. Elizabeth, 3:45 p.m.

St. Thomas More (1-3) at Lake Forest (6-3), 4 p.m. The Ravens face a team that has won 6 in a row while the Ravens have only played four games.

Wednesday

Sussex Tech (6-4) at Salesianum, 4 p.m.

Thursday

St. Thomas More at Ss. Peter and Paul (Md.), 3:30 p.m.

Archmere (5-3) at Delaware Military Academy (8-3), 6:15 p.m. The Auks meet their conference rival in the first of two meetings this year. Nothing like a game under the lights.

Newark (5-5) vs St. Elizabeth, 6:30 p.m., Frawley Stadium

Friday

Seaford (0-8) at St. Mark’s (10-1), 4 p.m.

Delaware Academy of Public Safety and Security (2-5) at St. Thomas More, 4 p.m.

Salesianum at Indian River (1-9), 4 p.m.

Saturday

St. Mark’s at Smyrna (7-2), 3 p.m. The Spartans are the top-ranked team again after beating Salesianum, and now they travel to the No. 6 Eagles, who lost to third-ranked Caravel last week.

Archmere vs. Hodgson (3-6) 6 p.m., Frawley Stadium

A.I. duPont (4-4) at St. Mark’s (2-6), 4 p.m. The Spartans look for their second straight win against the Tigers.

St. Elizabeth (3-4) at Sanford (1-7), 4 p.m. The Vikings try for a third straight win.

Shawnee (N.J.) at Salesianum (8-2), 5:30 p.m. The Sals’ tough out-of-state schedule continues against a foe from South Jersey. The Sals took the top team in North America to overtime on April 23.

Saturday

Caesar Rodney (6-2) at Archmere, 12:30 p.m. The Auks are thrown another tough task.
