BRANDYWINE HUNDRED – Jessica Fyock had three hits, including a home run, drove in four and scored a run as Concord rolled to a 13-3 five-inning win over Archmere in nonconference softball Tuesday afternoon at Concord.

The entire lineup was involved as the Raiders used a pair of big innings to pull away from the Auks and improve to 6-1 on the season. After Archmere took a 1-0 lead in to open the game, Concord bounced back with two in their half when Fyock, a senior, blasted one to deep right field with a runner on first. Fyock beat the throw to give the Raiders the lead at 2-1.

The Raiders added four in the second, including a steal of home by junior Taylor Chamberlain on the back end of a double steal. Senior Margo Donlin knocked in a pair later in the frame with a double to left, and Fyock brought her home with a bloop single to left.

Meanwhile, the performance of Concord pitcher Rachel Pritchard was just as impressive. The senior scattered six hits – three of them in the fifth – and allowed single runs in the first, third and fifth as she won her sixth game in seven decisions. The final Archmere run brought the Auks to within 7-3, but the Raiders put the game away with six runs in their half. Fyock was involved in that inning as well, scoring Pritchard with a single before being lifted for a pinch runner.

Concord6Donlin knocked in three runs for Concord, and Stephanie Rydgren went 3-for-3 with one RBI.

For the Auks (3-4), freshmen Jocelyn Phillips and Kayla Murray each went 2-for-3 with an RBI. They are two of eight freshmen on the team’s roster. Archmere also plays at home Thursday at 3:45 p.m., hosting Brandywine.
