Bad weather leads to busy schedules for girls teams

The weather is wreaking havoc on the spring sports schedule as the season winds down and teams try to get in the regular season games before time runs out.

Soccer

Monday

Newark Charter (6-3) at Archmere (8-1-2), 3:45 p.m. soccerThe Auks, ranked second in Division II, face a third straight tough game against the visiting Patriots.

Tuesday

St. Elizabeth (3-8-1) at Conrad (6-4-2), 3:30 p.m. The Vikings look for the road upset before their showdown with St.. Mark’s.

Ursuline (5-4-2) vs. Padua (13-0), 3:30 p.m., Independence School. The top-ranked Pandas look to stay unbeaten, but the Raiders want the upset.

Wednesday

Wilmington Christian (3-7-1) at Archmere, 3:45 p.m.

Thursday

St. Elizabeth at St. Mark’s (4-8), 3:45 p.m. The Spartans are looking for the season sweep against their rival.

Lake Forest (7-4) at Ursuline, 3:45 p.m.

St. Thomas More (1-7-1) at Sussex Tech (6-6), 6 p.m. The Ravens got their first win last time out.

Friday

Archmere at Charter (6-2-1), 3:30 p.m. The Auks take on the third-ranked Division I team looking to get the road win against the Force.

Saturday

Indian River (10-1) at Ursuline, 4 p.m. The top-ranked Division II team travels north looking not to get upset by the Raiders.

 

Softball

Monday

Wilmington Christian (3-10) at Archmere (5-8), 3:45 p.m. The Auks have lost five straight.

softballSt. Mark’s (6-7) at Newark Charter (2-10), 3:45 p.m. The Spartans look for the road win to even their record.

Padua (9-1) at Ursuline (4-5), 3:45 p.m. The Pandas suffered their first loss last week, while the Raiders ended a two-game losing streak last game.

St. Thomas More (3-4) at Salisbury Christian (Md.), TBA. The Ravens have had five straight games rained out and would like to play some ball this week.

Tuesday

Ursuline at Red Lion (5-4) 7 p.m.

Wednesday

St. Elizabeth (4-6) at Wilmington Christian, 3:45 p.m. The Vikings are praying for no rain as they haven’t played since April 26. They start a stretch of three games in three days.

Hodgson (8-3) at Padua, 3:45 p.m.

Newark (3-10) at St. Thomas More, 4 p.m.

Woodbridge (2-8) at St. Mark’s, 4 p.m.

Thursday

Conrad (10-2) at Archmere, 3:45 p.m.

Wilmington Christian at Ursuline, 3:45 p.m.

Charter (9-2) at St. Elizabeth, 4 p.m.

St. Thomas More at Seaford, (1-10), 4:15 p.m.

Padua at Appoquinimink (10-2), 4:30 p.m. The fourth-ranked Pandas travel to the No. 3 Jaguars in a key nonconference showdown as Padua meets its third straight tough opponent.

Friday

Smyrna (9-1) at Ursuline, 3:45 p.m. The Raiders host the Eagles in a big match up, the fourth in five days for Ursuline.

St. Elizabeth at St. Mark’s, 4 p.m.

 

Lacrosse

Monday

Sussex Tech (3-7) at Archmere (8-3), 4 p.m. The Auks got a lacrossenice win against Ursuline last time out. That game concluded a tough, busy week that included an overtime loss to second-ranked Polytech.

St. Andrews (5-4) at St. Mark’s (6-4), 4 p.m. The Spartans, who got a huge win at Friends last week, attempt to keep the momentum going as they fight for the postseason.

Tuesday

Ursuline (8-3) at Charter (11-1), 3:45 p.m. The third-ranked Force face a Raiders team coming off a tough loss to Archmere.

St. Thomas More (5-5) at A.I. DuPont (7-5), 4 p.m. A road win would put the Ravens over the .500 mark.

Padua (5-7) at Sussex Tech, 5 p.m. The Pandas look to ruin senior night for the Ravens.

Wednesday

Padua at Middletown (8-4), 3:45 p.m.

Christiana (0-12) at St. Thomas More, 4 p.m.

Archmere at Appoquinimink (7-5), 6 p.m.

Cape Henlopen (11-1) at St. Mark’s, 4 p.m. The top-ranked Vikings come to town as the Spartans look for a season-defining upset.
