MILL CREEK – Wilmington Friends spoiled St. Mark’s volleyball home opener with a 3-0 sweep Thursday afternoon. The scores were 28-26, 25-15 and 25-11.

The Quakers jumped out to a 17-11 in the first set, but St. Mark’s, behind the service aces of freshman Grace Sawyer, scored seven straight to take an 18-17 advantage. Friends rebounded to go up, 24-21, but the Spartans fought off several set points to stay in it, but Friends prevailed.
