BEAR – Padua’s lacrosse team fought back from eight goals down, but the Pandas fell to Caravel, 19-16, on April 27. Senior Olivia Duarte led the Buccaneers with 10 goals, while classmate Lauren Phillips added seven.
Duarte scored the Buccaneers’ last goal with 8:05 left to give them a 19-11 lead. The Pandas scored five straight, including two from Grace DiGiovanni to cut it to 19-16 with 2:03 left. Duarte won the ensuing face off and the Buccaneers were able to hold off the Pandas rally to improve to 6-3 on the season.
The Pandas (6-2) got five goals from DiGiovanni, while Jordan Bramble and Cecilia Krienen added three each. They travel to A.I. DuPont for a 4 p.m. faceoff this afternoon.
The Buccaneers host Polytech on Monday at 5:30 p.m.
