Sals’ Wallace named soccer player of the year

Bryce Wallace, a senior at Salesianum who scored both of his team’s goals in the state championship game on Nov. 18, was named the Delaware soccer player of the year by the Delaware High School Soccer Coaches Association.

Two of his teammates joined him on the First XI. They are senior Gavin Ford and junior Tommy McGrail.
The other all-state teams include several from Catholic high schools. Tirst team: Zach Dainton, senior, Archmere; Andrew Rosenbaum, sophomore, Archmere; Jack Leonard, junior, Salesianum; Casey Kurlej, junior Salesianum; Peter Coker, senior, St. Mark’s; and Emmett McCloskey, junior, Salesianum.
Second team: Ben Strine, junior, Salesianum; Matt Ziomek, sophomore, St. Mark’s; Nikko DiSimplico, senior, Salesianum; and Jason Dauerty, junior, Salesianum.
Third team: Vincent Begatto, junior, Archmere; Chase Dunlap, junior, St. Elizabeth; and James Smith, junior, St. Elizabeth.
