The Auks and Hillers both came out on fire trading points. Sophomore Julia Kochie had a few kills and two aces to spark an early Auks lead at 6-5. The Hillers used powerful kills by Thomson and  Sachs to take a 21-15 lead. Sachs closed out the set with a sensational kill to give the home team the lead.
The second set was played on a seesaw most of the set. Kochie and Lexi Kelly combined on a block to give the Auks a 16-15 lead. Kelly then had a kill to tie it at 20. The Hillers went on a 5-1 run to close out the set. The third set also started out back-and-forth as a Kochie kill gave the Auks a 13-12 lead. The Hillers responded with a 11-0 run thanks to great serving from Abby Carpenter, who had three aces in that span, two of them off the tape. Thomson and Sachs were also dominant in the frontcourt during that run. Thomson closed out the match with her 19th kill to keep the Hillers unbeaten.
Sachs finished with 16 kills and 23 digs. The Hillers (8-0) host another unbeaten team in the Padua Pandas (9-0) on Wednesday at 5:15 p.m. Archmere’s statistics were not available late Tuesday night. The Auks (6-3) travel to Delaware Military Academy on Tuesday for a 7 o’clock start.
