Volleyball top-five showdowns highlight girls schedule

The second full week of the fall season gives us a couple top-five Catholic showdowns in volleyball and some key field hockey games.

Field hockey

Monday

Padua (1-0) at Tatnall (0-3), 3:45 p.m. The fifth rank Pandas have been off for 10 days after a season-opening win.

field hockeyConrad (1-1) vs. St. Elizabeth (0-1), 3:45 p.m. at Hockessin Montessori School. The Vikings are looking for their first win of the season.

Tuesday

Newark (0-3) vs. St. Elizabeth, 3:45 p.m. at Hockessin Montessori School.

St. Mark’s (1-1) at Tower Hill (3-0), 3:45 p.m. The Spartans have their hands full this week playing two top-10 teams. The No. 2 Hillers are really good this year.

Wednesday

Middletown (0-3) at Ursuline (1-0-1), 3:45 p.m.

Padua vs. DMA (2-1), 4 p.m. at Kirkwood Soccer Club.

Thursday

Appoquinimink (1-2) at Ursuline, 3:45 p.m. The Raiders look to stay unbeaten as they get momentum with all the early home games.

St. Thomas More (0-2) at Woodbridge (1-2), 4 p.m. The Ravens have lost two games by 1-0 scores.

St. Mark’s at Caravel (2-0), 7:15 p.m.

Friday

Padua at Newark Charter (1-2), 3:45 p.m.

Saturday

St. Thomas More at Delmarva Christian (0-3), 11 a.m.

Monday

St. Georges (0-0) at Ursuline (1-0), 6:45 p.m.

St. Thomas More (2-0) at Sussex Academy (0-1) 4 p.m.

Polytech (1-0) at Archmere (3-0) 6:15 p.m. The Auks have been good this season, while the Panthers have a busy week making up some matches.

St. Mark’s (2-0) at Padua (3-0), 7:15 p.m. The Pandas’ first home match brings in the fifth-ranked Spartans, who have been impressive so far. No. 2 Padua hasn’t dropped a set yet.

Wednesday

St. Elizabeth (0-2) at St. Georges, 5:15 p.m.

Thursday

Dover (0-1) at St. Thomas More, 5:15 p.m.

Padua at Ursuline, 7:15 p.m. The Pandas and fourth-ranked Raiders meet in a key Catholic showdown. Ursuline had Padua’s number last year, defeating the Pandas three times.

Concord at Archmere, 6:15 p.m.

St. Mark’s at St. Elizabeth, 7:15 p.m.

Saturday

St. Thomas More at Delmarva Christian (0-1), 11 a.m .This will be the Ravens’ toughest test of the season so far.
