Field hockey and volleyball are – to use another sport’s term – rounding third for the regular season. Both sports have a few compelling matchups this week as the playoff picture becomes more focused.
Field hockey
Monday
St. Thomas More (3-3) at Christiana (0-10), 3:45 p.m.

Archmere (6-2-1) at Red Lion (5-3-1), 3:45 p.m. Archmere travels to Red Lion with a five-game unbeaten streak. The Lions could be a dangerous opponent as they come in looking to end a two-game losing streak.
St. Mark’s (4-5) at Tatnall (4-4), 3:45 p.m.
Holly Grove Christian at Ss. Peter and Paul, 4 p.m.
St. Elizabeth (2-6) at Delcastle (2-8), 4 p.m.
William Penn (4-5-1) at Ursuline (7-1), 4 p.m.

Delaware Military Academy at Padua, 3:45 p.m.
Caravel at Ursuline, 3:45 p.m. The Buccaneers and the Raiders are two of the better teams in Division II. Caravel took a 7-0-2 record into the week and will be coming off a tough game at Wilmington Charter on Tuesday.
Archmere at Wilmington Christian (3-6-1), 3:45 p.m. at Hockessin Montessori School.
Friday
Ss. Peter and Paul, opponent and time to be determined.
Saturday
St. Elizabeth at Ursuline, 11 a.m.
Volleyball
Monday
St. Thomas More (6-4) at Tome (Md.), 4 p.m.
Ursuline (9-1) at Appoquinimink (8-2), 6:15 p.m. The Raiders are traveling to Middletown to meet the Jaguars, who lead Blue Hen Conference Flight A. Appo’s front line features seniors Carly Burns in the middle and Caelan Brooks and Brooke Miller on the outside, while Ursuline will counter on defense with the sisters, Sam and Sydney Davis, and some fearsome hitters of their own. This will be the first meeting between the two schools since the first round of the 2009 DIAA state tournament.
Tuesday
St. Mark’s (9-2) at Red Lion (8-3), 5:15 p.m. St. Mark’s will have its hands full against the Lions, who begin a three-match homestand with this one. The Spartans have a multitude of weapons, including Erin Derick, Savannah Seemans and Gillian Lytle, but Red Lion brings the heat with Mollie Betters, Janai Gibson and Alexee Gray.
St. Thomas More at Caesar Rodney (7-4), 5:30 p.m. St. Thomas More has a bunch of new faces this season, but the rivalry with the nearby Riders is always a good one.
First State Military (4-6) at Archmere (8-3), 6:15 p.m.
Padua (11-0) at St. Elizabeth (4-6), 7:15 p.m.
Wednesday
Tri-State Christian (Md.) at St. Thomas More, time TBA
Thursday
Ursuline at Wilmington Charter, 6:15 p.m. It will be power vs. power in this match. Look for Corinne Furey, Taylor Wright and Abbie Rzucidlo for the Raiders, while Charter features two of the state’s best in Maddie Matheny and Erin Michalcewiz.
St. Mark’s at Newark Charter, 6:45 p.m.
Friday
William Penn at St. Thomas More, 3:30 p.m.
Padua at Archmere, 6:15 p.m. Expect a raucous atmosphere inside the Moglia Fieldhouse when the No. 1 team in the state comes for a friendly visit as the Auks wrap up their home schedule. The Pandas create problems with their multiple big bodies up front, so Archmere’s defense had better be on its best behavior.
Appoquinimink at St. Elizabeth, 6:45 p.m.
Soccer
Tuesday
Salisbury Christian at Ss. Peter and Paul, 4 p.m.
Wednesday
Ss. Peter and Paul, opponent and time to be determined.
Friday
Ss. Peter and Paul, opponent and time to be determined.
