The week in soccer includes a visit from a surprising contender from Sussex County, while Catholic school football teams keep eyes on the postseason.
Soccer
Monday
Christiana (7-3) at St. Elizabeth (4-5), 3:45 p.m. at Alapocas Run.
Ss. Peter and Paul at St. Mary’s, 4 p.m.
Tuesday
Laurel (9-1) at St. Mark’s (7-3-1), 4 p.m. The Bulldogs have quietly put together a fantastic season, continuing a turnaround for a program that went winless as recently as 2014. Craig Rice and Santos Rodas lead the offense for Laurel, which has won eight in a row but has not traveled north of Dover until today. St. Mark’s Peter Coker scored four times in the team’s win last week against Sussex Tech, and Sean Lenderman has filled in nicely in goal after being pressed into duty.
Design Lab (2-4) at St. Thomas More (2-5), 4 p.m.
Wednesday
Salesianum (9-1) at C. Milton Wright (Md.), 4 p.m. The Sals travel to Bel Air, Md., to meet the Mustangs.
Thursday

Brandywine at St. Elizabeth, 3:45 p.m. at Alapocas Run.
Friday
Ss. Peter and Paul at Friends (Md.), 4 p.m.
Saturday
Archmere at Dover, 10 a.m.
St. Elizabeth at Salesianum, 11 a.m.
St. Mark’s at William Penn, 1 p.m.
Football
Friday
William Penn (3-3) at Salesianum (4-2), 7:30 p.m. The Colonials will try to return to their winning ways in a big road matchup at Salesianum. Penn saw its three-game winning streak end last week against Hodgson, and they will be encountering a Sallies squad that dropped a close one to No. 1 Middletown. It’s reunion weekend at 18th and Broom, so expect another large, loud crowd at Baynard Stadium.
Saturday
St. Elizabeth (1-5) at Archmere (3-3), 2 p.m.
St. Mark’s (5-1) vs. Delaware Military Academy (5-1), 7 p.m. at Baynard Stadium. Two of the top teams in Division II do battle under the lights at Baynard. The Spartans’ lone loss came at Caravel, while DMA lost to Hodgson. St. Mark’s uses many options on offense, including Andrew Watkins and Jelani Bryant. Speedy running back Corahn Alleyne anchors the Seahawks’ offense.
