Girls action heats up in field hockey, volleyball

The sticks are swinging, and the serves are flying as the girls continue their first full week of action today.

Before we get to that, however, here is a look at Tuesday’s results. Ursuline earned a 7-0 shutout win in field hockey vs. St. Andrews, while Archmere held off St. Elizabeth, 5-2. In volleyball, Archmere was a 3-0 winner over Newark Charter, while Ursuline swept St. Elizabeth.

Wednesday

St. Thomas More at Gunston Day (Md.), 4 p.m. The Ravens defeated Red Lion on Monday and want to keep the momentum going.

Thursday

St. Georges at St. Elizabeth, 3:45 p.m.

Delaware Military at Archmere, 3:45 p.m.

Friday

Wilmington Friends at St. Mark’s, 3:45 p.m.

Saturday

Indian River at St. Thomas More, 11 a.m.

 

Volleyball

Wednesday

St. Mark’s at Wilmington Friends, 5 p.m. The Spartans meet the Quakers in a battle of top-10 teams.

Thursday

St. Thomas More at St. Elizabeth, 6:45 p.m. St. Thomas More opens its season and plays the first of three consecutive days.

Friday

Milford at St. Thomas More, 5:30 p.m.

Wilmington Christian at Archmere, 6:15 p.m.

Wilmington Friends at Padua, 6:45 p.m. Two of the state’s top four teams battle in the early season.

Smyrna at St. Mark’s, 7:30 p.m.

Saturday

Sussex Academy at St. Thomas More, noon
