WILMINGTON – St. Elizabeth took an early lead over Delaware Military Academy when the teams met in a nonconference football game on Sept. 29, and for a quarter the Vikings stayed with the No, 2-ranked team in Division II. But DMA simply brought too much Corahn Alleyne, who scored five touchdowns in a 42-7 win at Baynard Stadium.

The 5-9, 165-lb. junior speedster had just 14 carries, but he made the most of them, gaining 231 yards and scoring four times. He also returned a punt 70 yards for his team’s first touchdown.
It was St. Elizabeth, however, that struck first, driving 68 yards on X plays. On the first play from scrimmage, quarterback Ray Jones found De’Quez Walker for a 41-yard gain to the Seahawks’ 27. The next play was another pass, this time to T.J. Butler, who was brought down at the 1-yard line. Two plays later, Butler finished the drive, taking a handoff into the end zone for the 7-0 lead just 91 seconds into the contest.
Alleyne scored again in the second quarter, taking a handoff 85 yards to give the Seahawks the 1-4 lead. He would repeat that result three more times in the third, running for scores from one, 37 and 44 yards out. Dominic Petrucci closed out the scoring, carrying the ball into the end zone from four yards out.

St. Elizabeth played its first full game without senior quarterback Casey Rock. He was injured in a loss to Delmar last Friday, and he will miss the remainder of the season with a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee. The Vikings have just one active senior on the roster.
The Vikings (1-3) are back in action next Friday at 7 p.m. at Baynard Stadium, welcoming Glasgow. DMA (4-0) travels to Hodgson next Saturday at 2 p.m.
